Wedding Cakes

Tiered and stacked wedding cakes are $2.75 per serving.  Fondant covered cakes are $3.00 per serving.  Two layer filled sheet cakes for a  wedding are about a $1.00 per serving.  A smaller  tiered or stacked cake can be paired with sheet cakes .

A deposit of $50 is required to reserve your wedding date.  Additional fees are added for equipment rentals, delivery, and deposits.  There is an additional charge for  floral designs created from royal icing and gum paste as these are labor-intensive.

 

Choose your own combination of cake, filling and frosting  or select  from one of combination cakes  on the cake flavors page.

 

 

Ways to sample the cake

Cake tastings are available by appointment for a $25 fee.  We can meet, sample several cake flavors and discuss design ideas.  

You can bring a few extra cake tasters along.  

 

Sample a 6 inch cake at  home   for  $20.    The $20 will be credited toward the $50  reservation fee if you  book a wedding cake with PureBliss Cakes & Catering, llc.

 

Attend one of the three open house cake tastings.  The open house is free of charge.        Simply r.s.v.p.  to

Glossary

 

Ganache is a smooth chocolate filling or frosting made with  melted chocolate  and heavy cream which is combined into a smooth glossy mixture.

Custard is a pudding made with milk, eggs, sugar. The custard  is cooked until thick and then flavored with vanilla, chocolate, or other flavors.

Lemon Curd is a custard created with eggs, sugar, and a citrus juice.

Fruit Mousse is created by folding whipped heavy cream with a pureed, sweetened fruit such as raspberries to make a filling  or dessert.

Chocolate Mousse is created with whipped heavy cream folded in to a thickened chocolate mixture to make a filling or dessert.

Italian Meringue Buttercream is a smooth and lightly sweet frosting made with a meringue, sugar syrup, and butter.  It can be a variety of flavors such as vanilla or chocolate.

Seven Minute Frosting is a  glossy  meringue frosting.

Rolled Fondant is used to create a smooth finish on  the outside of the cake.  Powdered sugar is blended with a mixture of gelatin, corn syrup, glycerin, and flavoring to create a rollable dough to cover an assembled cake.

Simple Buttercreams  are made with powdered sugar, butter and other flavored liquids such as vanilla, orange or lemon.  Cream Cheese frosting is also a simple butter cream.

Angel Food Cake is a low-fat cake.  The cake is a mixture of  flour and sugar folded into a whipped egg-white or meringue.

Butter Cakes  are a  fluffy mixture of   butter and sugar  whipped together.  Then,  liquids,  such as  eggs or milk, and dry ingredients are added.  White, devil’s food, poppy seed, banana and almond cake are all butter cakes.

Buttermilk Cakes  are a type of  butter cake where one of the liquids is buttermilk which adds to the flavor and moistness of the cake.

Red Velvet Cake is a buttermilk cake that is made with red food coloring  in the cake layers and frosted with a simple butter cream that is very white.

d A deposit and rental fee are required if special cake platters, pedestals , and other equipment are part of the cake order.  The rental fee is waived if the equipment is returned to Pure Bliss within five days of your order.

 

y Payment  can be made by personal check or cash.  A deposit may be required for larger special occasion cakes or wedding  cake orders. 

         Wedding cakes must be paid in full one week prior to the event.

 

z Delivery in DeForest is $3.00.  The delivery fee for areas outside of the 53532 zip code  is  $1.50 per mile from Pure Bliss to your door.

 

j A bakery pick-up is tax exempt and bakery deliveries are subject to a state and county tax of 5.5%.

 

p An additional charge will be added for  labor intense artwork such as large scenes piped in buttercream; flowers formed from royal icing, fondant or gum paste;  fresh flowers or candied edible flowers.
